Good luck on your CDAs! I have enabled a new "chat" at the top of this page. Please read my post carefully. The chat is not "facebook for Ms. McNeill's class." If you have a RELATED language arts question this is the place to ask it. If you want a longer discussion or debate of a RELATED ELA topic, you may post in the threaded discussions under REFLECTION 1 in Moodle. I am continuing to work on getting the login/registration issues resolved for those of you who cannot use the online sources. Any EXTRANEOUS DETAILS that are unrelated to our class, reading, writing, or "real world" connection will be removed...not naming names, but you know who you are. Posting random comments will be considered disruptive and points will be deducted from your agenda for this kind of infraction. Not sure if your question/topic is related? ASK FIRST! And remember...chat responsibly. I see everything.

All classes: Make sure you have turned in the narrative topic 1 from last lab day and your "I AM" poem. Also, I am missing several grammar assignments. You have had worksheets on VERBS, PRONOUNS, and "La Bamba" verb tense WS. If you have been absent you are responsible for making this up.

Finished with all that? You may begin working on topic 2  and 3 (your choices) from your Narrative sheet: Autobiographical incident. You will choose one of these to extend into an essay. Study for your CDA next Thursday- all grammar.

Enjoy your 1/2 day... ;)

Welcome to Cheetah Chat

Hi Cheetahs! Welcome to our new blog for my 3rd, 4th, and 5th period classes. You will have some of the same assignments, but I will post those that are different, or extension activities. I hope this will be a way, in conjunction with Moodle, to keep your projects separate since I now teach several "preps."
I look forward to working with you. If you did not complete the journal, "I am" poem, or responses in Moodle please do so over the break. If you need more typing time that's fine. Let's make sure you have a copy in the folder by next Wednesday. Also, 3rd and 5th period- turn in your new mall questionaires Tuesday. Also, turn in your "Mother to Son" sheets with your poems (from "Your Turn) next week. If you did not finish the "I AM" poem and class journal please do so over the weekend- WEDNESDAY is the final deadline for that. We will have another grammar assignment due on Thursday- please don't get behind.

4th period (7th grade)- thanks for your ideas and posts on the Reflection question. However, many of you used inapproprate language, had inappropriate comments, or joined "The Vent" prior to being instructed to do so. If I see it again you will be removed from the discussion boards. Thanks for following etiquette and school rules apply. If you wouldn't say it, don't post it.

Thanks!

-Ms. M.
