7th grade: Comparison/Contrast- Salem Witch trials vs. McCarthyism

Directions: You will be reading and comparing/contrasting the Salem Witch Trials with the McCarthy hearings. Follow the directions below culminating in the writing assignment at the end. Type the paragraph, save, and print.

1.       Salem Witch trials:

Read excerpts from the following websites to gain a basic understanding of the Salem Witch trials:

4th period: We will begin studying clauses this week (adjective/adverb clauses). Monday you will copy a chart to help you remember words that begin subordinate clauses and we will also review relative pronouns (might want to break out those pronoun notes from a month ago). I am looking for some online resources, games etc. to help, but in the meantime...these are resources from your book.
